An adventure six years in the making

Bo is to blame…. 🙂 Upon first hearing of Kevin’s ability to carve a portion of salary off of each paycheque and then take a ‘Deferred Salary Leave’ in 5 or 6 years, the clock had started and there was no turning back...

Our original goal was to give Sophia a chance to see what it would be like to live in and learn from another culture; to find a place to live where she (and Kevin) could learn some Spanish so Bo wouldn’t be the only one to negotiate with cab drivers etc. during our trips.

Covid will undoubtedly change the way we do this trip in certain ways, but the main goal is still there and a few other ones have been added: learn to play the guitar; learn to surf; volunteer at an animal rescue facility (one ‘slothpital’ is already on our radar)… and to reconnect, both as a family and with the world around us.

We will miss the lost opportunities to have some dear friends and family come down and join us for part of our time, but we hope that this site offers everyone a chance to stay in touch while we see what Costa Rica has to offer. Pura Vida!
